Halloween has turned into the Superbowl for the Government-insulated sugar industry (read Salt Sugar Fat by Michael Moss for more on that topic), and we cave in like everyone else. Who wants to be that family giving out something the kids will hate? Not us, that’s for sure. But we limit what we give to one little fun size bag of M&M’s or something similar. Heck, with about 300 trick-or-treaters coming to our house every year, we have about 28,000 calories going out the door!
Ever wonder what it takes to burn off the calories from all the candy? Here’s a nice chart to put it all into perspective for you. Just one warning: take it easy on your kids’ candy. They’ll burn it off quickly, we have to work it off 🙂
