After taking 5 weeks off to complete the Ultimate Reset and attend Beachbody Coach Summit in Las Vegas, I re-started the bracket in early July and have completed 11 weeks of the 20-week Beachbody Bracket. Here’s a brief half-way update. Rather than describe each matchup individually if you would like to hear my comments on why one workout was better than another ask in the comments section below.
Upper & Lower Bracket
I acquired the P90X3 Elite DVD Upgrade disks that include the Complex Upper, Complex Lower, and X3 Ab Ripper workouts and weaved them into the schedule. I personally didn’t like Complex Upper all that much because it was 5 rounds of the same 5 moves, and I felt it got a little redundant by the end. I’ll be doing Complex Lower soon.
Cardio/MMA/Plyo Bracket
Everybody’s favorite T25 workout Speed 2.0 was knocked off easily by Insanity Max Interval Circuit. The original Plyo X triumphed over both X2 Plyocide and X3 Triometrics. Sometimes you just can’t beat the original.
Total Body & Core Bracket
Focus T25 did very well in the Total Body/Core bracket on the strength of its focus on core throughout the program. An interesting match is coming between Alpha Total Body Circuit and Gamma Extreme Circuit in Week 15.
Abs/Stretch/Yoga Bracket
Believe it or not I chose X2 Ab Ripper over Ab Ripper X because the moves were slower and with less reps, I felt like I got a better workout with it.
The Standings
For those of you keeping score at home here’s the current leaderboard:
No surprise that Insanity is near the top of the list due to its hardcore heart thumping workouts. P90X, X2 and X3 are all bunched up in the middle and unfortunately Combat brings up the rear. Halfway down, stay tuned for the next update as I am now getting into the Final 4’s where there will be some tough decisions to make 🙂

This is very interesting, especially since it’s based on something other than totally subjective opinion. Did you ever finish the process, and if so, did you publish it?
Thanks!
Hi Dave–Funny you should ask. I have 3 workouts left and then I’m done and I will do a final write up with stats and “the best of this” and “the best of that” analysis. If you want to read ahead click on the link in the post to my real time bracket status–I have been keeping it pretty much up to date.
