Roasted Broccoli and Garlic

Roasting broccoli is a nice (and also easy) alternative to steaming, which we do often too.

Roasted Broccoli and Garlic

(modification of recipe originally from Ina Garten)

servings 4

  • 2 broccoli stalks, cut in to florets and cut in half for bite size pieces including the stem (about 4  cups)
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Place broccoli pieces on a foil lined baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper. Roast in oven for 5 minutes.  Add sliced garlic and roast for 15 to 20 more minutes or until garlic begins to brown, tossing occasionally.
